My favorite character was Jack. I love a good comedy and to me he was the funniest character we've read about. I love the way his mind works, he wants more in life so he just creates a new name to go under! How genius is that?! It's like no sweat for him, he doesn't mind acting, until it comes to the girl he loves, even though she's shallow at first. I also like how he ended up coming clean about his double life too, he had his fun then had to fess up. His life sounds yes complicated, but none the less like a total blast.

I can't pick a favorite because I greatly enjoyed all three of them. Each play brought something different to the table. With Raisin in the Sun, what I enjoyed most about it was the diversity in the family. They all have different ways of thinking, beliefs and taking action. It was also very suspenseful with the money situation. It just really showed how lower class black families tried to get by back in the day. All in all an excellent play.

The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man In the Moon Marigolds threw me for a loop. It was not at all what I expected, which is why I think I enjoyed it so much. I liked it because how dysfunctional the family was, mostly Beatrice. Probably also because I really enjoyed playing the part. All the problems they had together and individually were so different from what we've read in school ever and that's mostly why I liked this play, simply because it's different.

I enjoyed The Importance of Being Earnest for all the comedy!! There were so many twists and turns everywhere and it was flat out hilarious. I really enjoy puns so this play was a great one to read. I loved all the suspense, it wasn't a serious play and that's why I liked it so much.

Tyler Erwin makes me make both of these noises frequently, (except for the meow.) He just acts like I'm as terrible as Mussolini when in fact he is the hurtful one!! It's very upsetting and I have to go eat a tub of ice cream now to help my self esteem.

The Inability to Make Meaningful Human Connections

Beatrice is a large culprit of this. She tries to completely shut out the outside world just because she is afraid. Her window is covered up so she and her family don't have those outside conncections. She hates the world so she doesn't want to communicate with it. Nanny can't make any connections with humans or anything really because she is blind and deaf so basically she just moves around.

Life versus Death

Death is a major theme in the play. It's all over the place. The inside of the house just looks like death with all the junk and newspapers strewn around and stuff. They have Nanny and she's nothing more than a moving corpse. Beatrice is one deadly lady with the way she kills the rabbit, which is sad, and she constantly kills her daughters spirits by belittling them and bringing them down.

Dreams

Beatrice, Tillie, and Ruth all have different dreams. Ruth ends up seizuring from her dream, from when she found Mr. Mayo dead. Beatrice talks to Ruth of her dream with her father and the vegetable wagon after Ruth awake from her dream and calms down. Beatrice talks a lot of how she dreams of opening a tea shop and becoming a dancer. Tillie however has scientific dreams of her own.

Self- Image

Self image is huge part of this play. Ruth is all about her physical image. She has to dress in tight sweaters, she won't go anywhere without make-up on, she just always have to look good. She also doesn't like to claim or be associated with Tillie, her sister because people laugh at Tillie. Beatrice pretty much is the way she is because of her self-image. She tells her kids how popular she was in high school, just to make herself look better because in reality people made fun of her, they called her Betty the Loon. When Beatrice got dressed up for the science fair she was trying to better her selfimage because she was worried about what everyone will think. Ruth caked a bunch of make up on for the science fair because her image had to look as good as possible.

Triumph in the Face of Adversity

Everyone in this play faces adversity, just in different ways. Some react negatively to their adversity whereas some react positively. Beatrice lets her bad life bring her down and get to her and now she hates the world. She tries to be better some but she always just reflects on the past and is her own limitation. Tillie however with her adversity handles it very well. She gets bashed a lot mentally and emotionally but it doesn't stop her from exploring and doing what she loves. In the play her mother tells her she should stay home more ( so she can help clean and stuff) but Tillie likes school so much, she proceeds to go. Beatrice attempts to better herself for Tillie's science fair at the school, but then Ruth slaps her in the face with the past and she a mess all over again.

I have a huge problem with this word right to my left.. If that makes sense. It sounds nasty and disgusting. No one should ever use it around me.

This picture describes me as a person, not just because I like the pretty colors. Which I do. Green is my favorite color by the way. Anyways, you see how there are several different colors? To me the colors are my thoughts, my feelings, my moods, my quirks, just different parts of me. Now all the colors swirl together and connect into one big color blob. So therefore all my thoughts, feelings, moods, and quirks swirl together and connect to make a person blob. And that my friends is how you get Emily.

Music is like food, only too much music won't make me fat. Like food, there is no limit to the variety you get in music. This picture describes me because when I saw it, it made me feel. That's all music does, is make you feel a ridiculous array of emotions. I also like this picture for the art, it's nice. I don't really know how to describe music for me, because I don't know I can't really function without it.

This ladies and gentlemen is my band. Old school of course. Not so much their new stuff. These were pretty much my heroes for half my life. Back in my day, (ya know, middle school, early high school), they were my inspiration for most of what I did. I looked up to them for so much. If I couldn't decide on something I would think to myself, 'what would Chester do?' It was pretty sad but they did get me all excited about music and stuff. So I thank them for that :).

This is definitely a picture that describes me because as long as I can remember I loooove to eat!! For me eating is a bit of an art/hobby. It's not just the necessary thing to do just so I can 'survive'. Oh no, it's much more than that. I appreciate food, the flavor, the texture, just everything it presents to me. I am very partial to meaty varieties of food. This picture describes me because you'll most likely see me eating 90% of the time :).
